Tonia is an Assistant Principal for Indianapolis Public Schools, overseeing curricular determinations, instructional and assessment practices, and professional learning opportunities. Previously, Tonia served as a District Curriculum and Instruction Specialist for MSD Pike Township and Secondary English Department Head for Brownsburg Community Schools. In these roles, she provided coaching and support to secondary teachers and leaders and professional development for staff. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Innovation. Mrs. Thompson is an Indiana native who moved from Indianapolis to Brownsburg with her husband of 20 years, Eric, and their three wonderful children: Sydney, Simone, and Eric.
Tonia is passionate about developing leaders and fostering equity. She is an avid reader and “plant mom” in her free time. She enjoys musicals and occasionally indulges in her guilty pleasure of listening to true-crime podcasts.
Laurie currently serves as the Director of Instruction and Curriculum in Brownsburg Community School Corporation. In this role, she supports secondary instruction, coaches building-level instructional leaders, and supports or creates systems and structures to increase student achievement, She also works alongside other district-level directors to develop and facilitate professional learning. Previously, she was a middle school principal for eight years, an assistant principal for two years, and an instructional coach. During her time as a principal, Brownsburg West Middle School was named a National Blue Ribbon School and became one of the highest-performing middle schools in the state of Indiana. Laurie is driven to help leaders develop strong practices that promote belonging and allow growth and sustainability. Laurie, a Brownsburg resident, is happily married to her husband of 20 years and stays busy being the mom to two very active boys!
Nicole currently serves as the Director of Student Learning at Brownsburg Community School Corporation. In this role she applies an equity lens on all the systems and structures within the district. She supports the district efforts around building cultural competence and culturally responsive practices and environments to provide equitable opportunities for all. She also provides professional learning, leads the district equity team, and works alongside all operational leaders and building-based admin to support climate, culture, and learning environments for the growing diverse population. Prior to this role, Nicole spent 18 years at the building level. Most of that time was as the principal in elementary and middle school settings, an assistant principal, an instructional coach, and beginning her career as a second-grade teacher. Married to her college sweetheart Drew, they share three beautiful children together. She enjoys traveling, playing board and card games, reading suspenseful books, and eating delicious meals made by her husband. In addition, the pursuit of acceptance and belonging for all is part of who she is.
